Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Will Sartell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Valdivia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sartell comes to the ring accompanied by Nightmare. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Will Sartell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jorge Valdivia!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sartell throws a series of strikes that have Valdivia backpedaling.


It looks like Jorge Valdivia has been cut.
Valdivia tries to clinch up.
Sartell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Valdivia.

Sartell clinches up against the ropes.
Sartell lands on the inside with an uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sartell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Valdivia is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Valdivia fails to pull guard.

Sartell has picked Valdivia up - he's going for a ride! Sartell dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Sartell throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Valdivia tries to kick Sartell off but Sartell keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sartell connects with a nice short shot to Valdivia's temple.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Valdivia tries to get to full guard but Sartell has control of the leg.
Still in half guard, Sartell seems content to control.

Sartell's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Valdivia is refusing to be controlled, as Sartell sits in half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Valdivia gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Valdivia has momentary wrist control but Sartell slips an elbow through the middle.

Sartell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valdivia swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Valdivia has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sartell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sartell tries to close the distance and clinch but Valdivia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sartell lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Sartell scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Valdivia is letting Sartell control him for a moment.

Sartell decides to stand back up. Sartell steps back and let's Valdivia get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sartell gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Sartell creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Valdivia's defenses.
Valdivia takes an elbow to the temple.
The referee is keeping an eye on Sartell - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Valdivia is breathing heavily.
Sartell gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.

Sartell lands an elbow inside.

Sartell comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Valdivia is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sartell is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Valdivia to the mat. Valdivia regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Sartell decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Valdivia, up you get!

Valdivia gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sartell.

Sartell has hold of one of Valdivia's legs. Valdivia is fighting the takedown attempt but Sartell gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Sartell postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Valdivia had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sartell is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Valdivia Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sartell's back instead.
Sartell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Valdivia can do to turn this around?
Sartell manages to reverse the position and now he's in Valdivia's guard. Nice work there by Sartell.
Valdivia is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sartell is controlling him.
Sartell stands up over Valdivia, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
