Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ji Kwon Tae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takanori Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomi has chosen Roots as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi throws a looping overhand right but Tae ducks down to avoid it.

Gomi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Tae walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Tae scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Takanori Gomi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tae stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Gomi to get to his feet.
Tae tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gomi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tae somewhat.

and Tae counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Gomi is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Tae is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gomi defends it well.
