Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Machida The Coward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Machida The Coward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The Coward is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rua.
The Coward comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The Coward bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The Coward tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rua was well out of range. Poor timing from The Coward.
Rua throws a sloppy head kick and The Coward moves out of range easily.

Rua lands with a kick to the temple. The Coward shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Machida The Coward has been cut.
Rua misses with a hook. The Coward ducked under it nicely.

Rua swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A big head kick from Rua and The Coward is sent sprawling to the canvas!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rua wants to pass the guard but The Coward is keeping the position.

The Coward pulls Rua in to control the position.
Rua content to stall in guard here.
The Coward kicks Rua off and gets to his feet.
Rua rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but The Coward moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The Coward displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rua throws out the jab.
The Coward looks to score with a jab to the body but Rua is just out of range.
The Coward scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The Coward misses with a combination
and Rua counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rua throws a lazy right hand but The Coward sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rua dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rua keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rua misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rua pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Rua doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Rua misses with an uppercut. The Coward saw that one coming.
Rua throws a big shot that misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The Coward lands a lovely overhand right.
The Coward throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Machida The Coward will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The Coward lands a nice hook to Rua's body. Rua takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The Coward is looking to wear down Rua with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
The Coward connects with a single shot there.
The Coward is looking to chop away at Rua's legs.
Rua misses with a combination
and The Coward counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rua is breathing heavily.

Rua walks into a left hand.
Rua on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
The Coward lands a big uppercut and Rua crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Rua looks OK. The Coward waves Rua back to his feet!
Rua is rocked!
The Coward throws an overhand right that has Rua reeling! The Coward follows up with more punches and Rua is out cold! This one is all over!
