Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mario Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Mangabeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Rodrigo Mangabeira was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Mangabeira!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mangabeira avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Martinez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Martinez shoots in and drives through. Mangabeira sprawls well.
Martinez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Mangabeira rushes Martinez and presses him up against the cage.

Martinez breaks the clinch.
Martinez tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Mangabeira counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mangabeira.

Mangabeira is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Martinez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mangabeira is one step ahead there.
Mangabeira trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Martinez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mangabeira doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mangabeira manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Martinez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Mangabeira thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Mangabeira is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Martinez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Martinez has escaped and now he's on top!

Mangabeira has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Martinez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Oh but Mangabeira is tightening it up a little... Martinez has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Martinez reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Martinez taps out! nice BJJ there by Mangabeira!
