PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between lamont kevler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Dante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). kevler kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is have a nice day. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dante checks a leg kick.
Dante avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dante shoots for a takedown but kevler saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

kevler closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dante did well to prevent kevler getting side control.
kevler seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dante does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dante can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Some bone on bone action there as Dante checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dante connects with a nice short shot to kevler's temple.
Dante takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
I looks like Dante might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
