Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Ha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Querido (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Ha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pedro Querido!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ha will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Ha gets caught flat footed, as Querido shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Querido won't allow Ha to sweep him here.

Ha has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Querido off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ha.

Querido shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Querido stopping the sweep attempt from Ha.
Querido landing with the ground and pound.
Querido trying to control but Ha is working from the bottom.

Ha can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Querido controls the pace.
Ha looking for a sweep. Not yet Ha, not yet.
Querido postures up in Ha's guard and throws a big left but Ha blocks it.

Querido is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ha has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Ha keeping moving, preventing Querido from controlling successfully.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Ha counters with a series of strikes. Querido will be more careful next time no doubt.
Querido looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ha is fending him off so far but Querido persists. Nope, Ha circles away and we're back to standing.
Querido scores with a nice head shot.
The fight stays on the outside here - Querido looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ha lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

and Querido counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ha!

Querido is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Ha wants to finish this one by submission but Querido is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ha.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ha slips a jab from Querido.
Querido tries for a takedown but Ha circles away easily

and Ha counters with a shoot takedown. Querido fights it but they end up in guard.
Ha is looking to stand up but Querido won't let him.

Ha thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Querido kicks Ha off and gets to his feet.
Querido gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Ha counters with a nice double leg into side control. Querido won't be happy with that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ha stands up and beckons Querido to his feet.
Ha fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Querido fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ha sprawls well initially but Querido persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Querido is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Querido throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Querido trying to control the action but Ha is working from the bottom.
Ha moves into full guard.
Querido preventing the sweep.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ha is on top in guard.

Querido is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Querido utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Querido uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Ha shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ha connects with a nice short shot to Querido's temple.
Querido is trying to control but can't.

Ha wants to work for an arm triangle but Querido is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ha is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Querido looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Querido avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ha.
Ha wants to stand but Querido has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Ha sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Querido defending well though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Querido shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ha manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ha looking to hit a scissor sweep but Querido is one step ahead there.

Querido not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Ha looking for a sweep. Not yet Ha, not yet.
Querido keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ha's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ha looking to hit a scissor sweep but Querido is one step ahead there.
Ha is trying to control the position but Querido postures up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Querido is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ha's half guard.
Querido content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
David Ha overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Querido is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Ha has managed to free his arm - good work.
Querido seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ha does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Ha tries to roll over but Querido keeps him under control.
Ha has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ha wants to control but Querido is keeping busy.

Ha manages to get to full guard.
Ha avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Ha counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ha.

Querido not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Querido has momentary wrist control but Ha slips an elbow through the middle.
Querido has control of Ha's left arm, preventing Ha from doing any damage.
Ha works over Querido with some ground and pound from guard.
Ha wants to control from the top but Querido keeps moving.

Ha chips away with some ground and pound.
Ha sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Querido's guard.
Ha wants to pass the guard but Querido is defending well.
Ha is keen to just control but Querido is a slippery customer.

Querido manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Querido fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ha throws a lazy body kick

and Querido counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ha!
Ha wants to control but Querido is having none of it.
Querido takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Querido looking to control but Ha is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Ha is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Querido looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Querido thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

I would just about give that final round to Pedro Querido.
Well Ha has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
