PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Deion Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake Murray struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Deion Sanders could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jake Murray's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murray looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sanders shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Murray counters with a single leg into guard. Sanders didn't expect that.
Murray not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Murray tries to free his leg and advance position but Sanders is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Sanders is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Murray defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Murray is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Sanders gets his way!
Sanders is looking to control Murray but Murray is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Sanders closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Murray to the mat! Murray manages to get full guard.

Murray is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sanders defends well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Murray uses his free foot to push down on Sanders's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sanders.

Murray has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Murray is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Sanders has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Murray has the hooks in. Sanders is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Sanders breaks Murray's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Murray working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanders doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sanders manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sanders drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sanders jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Murray showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Murray got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sanders has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Murray has managed to get both his arms back between Sanders's legs - danger averted.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Murray looking for a triangle here. Sanders is fighting it but it looks tight! Murray pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Sanders is tapping out - this one is all over!
