Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Leonidas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King Leonidas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derrick Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Leonidas!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson fails to land the takedown.
Johnson wants to clinch up but Leonidas keeps it at a distance.
Johnson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Johnson connects with a solid leg kick.
Leonidas fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A nice inside leg kick there by Johnson. That's going to slow Leonidas down.

Leonidas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Leonidas lands in his opponent's guard.

Leonidas decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Leonidas needs to keep his hands up - Johnson had a free shot at his head there.
Leonidas shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Leonidas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Leonidas crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Johnson - the referee stops the clock and Leonidas gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Johnson. Leonidas manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Johnson throws a quick inside leg kick.
Leonidas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Leonidas sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Leonidas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derrick Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Johnson counters with a good low kick that Leonidas was not able to check.

Leonidas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Leonidas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Johnson, up you get!
Leonidas throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Johnson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Leonidas.
Leonidas tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Johnson wants to clinch up but Leonidas keeps it at a distance.
Leonidas stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.
A punch combination from Leonidas misses.

Johnson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Leonidas throws a sloppy body shot
and Johnson counters with a good low kick that Leonidas was not able to check.

Johnson rushes Leonidas and presses him up against the cage.
Leonidas can't break the clinch.
Leonidas wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Johnson keeps control of Leonidas as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Leonidas wants to get back to striking at distance but Johnson won't allow it.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson scores with a kick to the midsection.
Johnson fails with the takedown
and Leonidas counters with a three punch combo that has Johnson backing up. Johnson nods at Leonidas to acknowledge the strikes.

King Leonidas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Johnson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Leonidas's sensitive parts.
Johnson is looking to slow Leonidas down with leg kicks.

Leonidas uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johnson.

Johnson feints and then cracks Leonidas's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Leonidas down.

Leonidas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Johnson.
Leonidas tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Leonidas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson.

King Leonidas dominated that round.

Leonidas lands a brutal uppercut that launches Johnson off his feet! Johnson tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
