The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKinley misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

McKinley tries to clinch but Nogueira moves out of range.

McKinley moves in looking to clinch but Nogueira pushes him off.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McKinley throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nogueira was covering up waiting for the punch and McKinley finishes the takedown easily into guard.

McKinley pushes Nogueira away with a front kick.
McKinley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McKinley connects with a solid leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from McKinley, right into the meat.

McKinley darts in and clinches Nogueira up against the cage.
McKinley tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

McKinley breaks from the clinch.

McKinley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nogueira tries to bench press McKinley off him but McKinley keeps the position.
Nogueira parries the strikes from McKinley easily there. McKinley is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Nogueira to escape.

McKinley is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Nogueira is trying to escape and McKinley transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Nogueira is forced to tap! Nice work there by McKinley! Very nice indeed!
