Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between tyler long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenshin Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). long comes to the cage accompanied by under the knife rise against. tyler long has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda shoots in for a takedown but long shows good takedown defense.

long shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Maeda manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Maeda is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst long is controlling him.
long trying to control the position from guard on top but Maeda is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
long will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maeda moves in looking to clinch but long pushes him off.

and Maeda counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. long is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

long closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Maeda is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

long stands up and we're back to a striking position.
long takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Maeda tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

long closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

long tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no long has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
long tries to score with some ground and pound. Maeda controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Maeda is looking for a sweep.

Maeda is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but long has just dragged him back down to the mat.
long misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Maeda wants to get back to his feet.

long cracks Maeda with an elbow. That is naaassty.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

long shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than long was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

long shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maeda but Maeda pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and long counters with a shoot takedown. Maeda fights it but they end up in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maeda has momentary wrist control but long slips an elbow through the middle.
