PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jigaro Kano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and shea bombs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kano's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, the zepher song. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
bombs changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kano tries to avoid it but bombs manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kano to the ground. Kano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
bombs shoots in for a double leg but Kano sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
shea bombs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and bombs counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

bombs sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kano's guard.

Kano manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. bombs manages to get himself to full guard.

Kano is looking for a kimura but bombs is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kano to get the leverage.

Kano is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so bombs is just riding it out for now. Kano eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Kano is sneakily working for an arm triangle but bombs sees it coming and defends easily.

bombs has Kano pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. bombs pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kano tumbling to the mat - bombs dives into Kano's guard.

Kano connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kano wants to control from the top but bombs keeps moving.

bombs had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kano is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. bombs Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kano's back instead.
bombs doesn't have the hooks in and Kano manages to turn into his guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

bombs tries to buck Kano off but Kano is having none of it.

Kano is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but bombs is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kano connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused bombs some visible discomfort.
Kano prevents bombs from escaping the position.
bombs is not content to let Kano control the position.
Kano creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Kano has hold of bombs's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! bombs tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Kano cranks the arm and bombs screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from bombs, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
