The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franks doesn't manage to clinch there - Zala circles away.
Franks displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Zala.
A punch combination from Franks misses.
Zala closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Franks did well to prevent Zala getting side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zala thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Franks to regain full guard.

Franks tries to clinch but Zala moves out of range.
