Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Horhay Rastler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitus Peering (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peering is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Saint Vitus Dance. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Horhay Rastler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vitus Peering!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rastler wants to clinch.
Peering displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rastler throws out the jab.
Rastler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rastler lands with a hook. Peering tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Peering shoots in but Rastler avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Peering throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rastler was covering up waiting for the punch and Peering finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Rastler is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Peering can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rastler throws a strike but Peering avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Rastler postures up in Peering's guard and throws a big left but Peering blocks it.

Peering wants to stand and escape but Rastler is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Rastler has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Peering off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Rastler wants to clinch but Peering slips to the side

so Peering counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Peering is trying to drag Rastler to the mat but Rastler just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Horhay Rastler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vitus Peering.

Peering is breathing heavily.
Peering prevents the takedown attempt.
Peering goes for a takedown attempt but Rastler pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Peering decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rastler's guard.

Rastler wants to stand but Peering is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rastler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Peering's guard.
Peering not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rastler is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Peering is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Peering has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rastler looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Vitus Peering has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rastler is trying to keep Peering in close.
Rastler is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Peering in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Peering throws and elbow that misses. Rastler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Peering's guard. Nice move by Rastler!

Rastler chips away with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Vitus Peering will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Rastler tries to close the distance and clinch but Peering swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Peering closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Peering lands in his opponent's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Peering accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rastler closes the distance and clinches.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Rastler.
Rastler presses Peering against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Rastler stops a takedown attempt from Peering.
A short uppercut from Rastler.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Rastler.
Rastler makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Rastler pulls guard.
Peering postures up.
Rastler seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Rastler escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Peering gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Peering wants to control from the top but Rastler keeps moving.

Peering can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rastler is looking to escape.

Let's hope that Peering has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Peering can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rastler is looking to escape.

I've got Peering winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
