Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Lashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Lashley!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lashley scores with a punch to the head.
Black will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Black fails in his attempt to clinch.
Black wants to clinch.
Black fails to land the takedown.
Black swinging wilding here.

Lashley gets a takedown into half guard.
Black wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lashley is pressing down on Black's thigh, looking to free his foot. Black is holding on for now.
Black is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Black trying to hold on to Lashley's head to control him but Lashley postures up.
Lashley wants to stand up but Black is controlling the position.
Lashley working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Black's thigh. Black counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Lashley drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Black manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lashley has Black in his guard.
Lashley pulls Black in close to his closed guard and prevents Black from doing any damage or advancing position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Let's hope that Lashley has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Lashley has a closed guard, preventing Black from standing up.

Lashley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Black. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lashley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Black looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Black regains half guard.
Black is breathing heavily.

Lashley seems to be working for a kimura but Black defends the submission attempt.
Black tries to kick Lashley off but Lashley keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Black wants to control but Lashley is keeping busy.
Black is looking for a sweep. Lashley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lashley is looking to take a break and control but Black is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Black is trying to stand back up but Lashley is controlling him

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Lashley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Black looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Black is looking to regain half guard here but Lashley keeps moving and retains side control.
Black is not content to let Lashley control the position.
Lashley looks up at the clock and then as Black takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lashley smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lashley throws a head kick that misses.
Black throws a nice looking combination but Lashley bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Black lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lashley backs up against the cage.
Lashley is looking to clinch but Black is avoiding it.

and Lashley counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lashley.
Lashley lands a couple of elbows.
Lashley trying to control the position from guard on top but Black is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lashley looking to sit in guard and control but Black gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lashley looking for a guillotine here but Black defends easily.
Lashley wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Black accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Lashley is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Lashley throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Black darts in trying to clinch

and Lashley counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Black's guard now.
Black lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lashley!

Black lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Black has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lashley's face.
Black pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Lashley wants to hold on but Black pushes him away.

Lashley is desperately trying to improve his position but Black has a good base and remains in mount.

Lashley bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Lashley shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lashley showed some decent athleticism there.
Black has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Black has one foot on Lashley's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Black winds up and cracks Lashley with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Black is looking to improve his position but Lashley isn't that keen on the idea.

Lashley is landing with some decent strikes but Black is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Bobby Lashley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lashley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
