PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mick Dolan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teddy Sean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dolan comes to the cage accompanied by The worlds greatest. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Mick Dolan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Teddy Sean!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Sean, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sean defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dolan.
Dolan is looking to clinch but Sean is avoiding it.
Sean throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Dolan clinches.
Dolan keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sean's efforts to push away.
A nice right hand lands inside from Dolan.
Dolan fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Dolan misses with some punches.
Dolan tries to pull guard but Sean won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mick Dolan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dolan misses with a knee to the head.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Sean.
Dolan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sean smiles and moves away.
Dolan blocks a jab.
Dolan misses with a looping right.
Dolan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sean.
Sean throws a lazy right hand but Dolan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Dolan tries to clinch up but Sean circles away and keeps his distance.
Teddy Sean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sean throws a looping overhand right but Dolan ducks down to avoid it.
Sean uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dolan has time to react.


It looks like Mick Dolan has been cut.

Dolan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Dolan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sean blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Dolan tries to pull guard but Sean holds him up against the cage and eventually Dolan drops back down to his feet.
Dolan swings wildly with an uppercut but Sean uses good head movement to avoid it.

Dolan misses with a hook from the clinch.
Dolan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Dolan has Sean pressed against the cage, preventing Sean from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Dolan doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

A head punch on the inside from Dolan fails to land.

Dolan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dolan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Sean tries to free his leg and advance position but Dolan is retaining full guard.

Dolan has his foot on Sean's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sean works his way back into a safe position though.
Dolan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Dolan throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sean escapes and throws Dolan's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Sean decides to stand back up. Sean steps back and let's Dolan get back to his feet.

Sean misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dolan.
Sean misses with a leg kick.
Sean wants to clinch
and Dolan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Dolan gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Sean throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dolan.
Sean misses with a body shot.

Dolan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sean is trying to defend but Dolan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Dolan is working for a kimura here but Sean manages to reverse the position and he's now in Dolan's guard.

Dolan pulls Sean in close to prevent any damage.

Dolan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sean gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sean seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Dolan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sean is aware though and is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Mick Dolan's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sean swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dolan is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Dolan closes the distance but Sean moves to the side
and Dolan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dolan fails with the takedown.
Sean misses with a body shot.
Sean throws a head kick but Dolan moves out of range.
Sean throws an overhand right that lands on Dolan's shoulder, as Dolan tries to avoid the shot.
Sean misses with a straight left.
Sean misses with a double jab

and Dolan moves into the clinch.
Sean wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Dolan swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Dolan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Dolan lands on the inside with an uppercut.

A short body shot lands from Dolan as the two fighters clinch.
Sean prevents a takedown attempt there.
Sean is trying to force a seperation but Dolan has the dominant position.
Dolan scores with a shoulder strike.
Sean blocks an uppercut.

Dolan pulls guard.
Dolan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sean is one step ahead there.
Dolan is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Dolan isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sean stacks Dolan on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sean!

Dolan tries to bench press Sean off him but Sean keeps the position.
Dolan manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sean's best efforts.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sean pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Dolan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mick Dolan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Dolan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sean thinking.
Dolan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sean looks to throw the jab but Dolan is out of range.
