Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rio Nakisaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Jacob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacob is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Champion. Ross Jacob has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rio Nakisaki's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rio Nakisaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ross Jacob!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakisaki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jacob shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nakisaki as he avoids it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nakisaki throws a right hand that Jacob ducks under and follows up with a left that Jacob also avoids with ease.

Jacob changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nakisaki tries to avoid it but Jacob manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nakisaki to the ground. Nakisaki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jacob is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nakisaki knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jacob is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nakisaki wants to clinch up but Jacob keeps it at a distance.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Nakisaki looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
