Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dave Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Rollin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Rollin!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dave Savage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Savage is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Savage tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rollin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Savage tries to clinch up but Rollin circles away and keeps his distance.
Rollin shoots in but no luck this time.

Savage shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Savage connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rollin tries to hold on but Savage postures up.

Rollin is desperately trying to improve his position but Savage has a good base and remains in mount.

Savage has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Savage throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Rollin because Savage loaded up on that one.

Savage swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Rollin is now in Savage's guard. A big mistake from Savage there, giving up the dominant position!
Rollin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Savage. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Savage counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rollin's guard now.

Savage drops back looking for a leg! Rollin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rollin manages to kick Savage off! Savage jumps back into Rollin's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Savage counters with a shoot takedown. Rollin fights it but they end up in guard.
Dave Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Rollin.

Rollin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rollin is pulling down on Savage's head. It's preventing any offense from Savage, at least for the moment.

Savage has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Rollin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Savage tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rollin swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Savage is trying to maintain the position but Rollin is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Savage clinches up with Rollin and pushes him back against the cage.
Come on Savage - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rollin can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rollin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Savage gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Savage decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Savage tries to clinch up but Rollin circles away and keeps his distance.

Well Savage has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
