Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between JL Salac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jigaro Kano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kano has chosen the zepher song as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Salac closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kano to the mat! Kano manages to get full guard.

Kano wriggles free and stands up.

Kano closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kano is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Salac is just riding it out for now. Kano eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Salac decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

JL Salac overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Salac shoots in and bounces Kano off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Salac drops back looking for a leg! Kano is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kano manages to kick Salac off! Salac jumps back into Kano's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kano gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Salac counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kano won't be happy with that.
