PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rumple Stiltzkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stiltzkin comes to the cage accompanied by Solitaire Unraveling. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harrison tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stiltzkin swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Harrison tries to clinch there but Stiltzkin circles away.
Harrison doesn't manage to clinch there - Stiltzkin circles away.
Stiltzkin shoots in for a double leg but Harrison sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Stiltzkin wants to land a leg kick but Harrison is out of range.
Harrison avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Harrison misses with a takedown attempt

so Stiltzkin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Stiltzkin trying to control but Harrison is working from the bottom.

Stiltzkin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Harrison, up you get!

and Stiltzkin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Harrison wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Stiltzkin manages to pass to side control.

Harrison is trying to break the clinch but Stiltzkin has him pressed against the cage.

Stiltzkin decides to pull guard.

Stiltzkin kicks Harrison off and gets to his feet.
George Harrison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harrison stuffs the takedown attempt from Stiltzkin. Stiltzkin gets slowly back to his feet.

Stiltzkin instigates a clinch.
Harrison lands a good knee to the midsection. Stiltzkin won't want to take too many of those.

Stiltzkin has Harrison pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Harrison manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Stiltzkin keeps control of Harrison as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Stiltzkin is leaning against Harrison and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Stiltzkin is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Harrison wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Stiltzkin has him pressed against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

and Stiltzkin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Harrison's guard.

Stiltzkin has gone for a leg lock! Harrison slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stiltzkin's guard.

Harrison throws a strike but Stiltzkin avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Rumple Stiltzkin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Stiltzkin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Harrison stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stiltzkin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Harrison must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Stiltzkin wants to sweep but no luck.

Stiltzkin pulls Harrison in close to prevent any damage.

Harrison decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Stiltzkin, up you get!
Harrison lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Stiltzkin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Harrison lands with a kick to the temple. Stiltzkin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Stiltzkin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Harrison's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Harrison tries to hold on but Stiltzkin postures up.

Stiltzkin is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Harrison throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Harrison gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Stiltzkin to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Harrison utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stiltzkin stands up from Harrison's guard - Stiltzkin perhaps looking for a knockout.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rumple Stiltzkin will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Harrison is desperately trying to improve his position but Stiltzkin has a good base and remains in mount.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Harrison really wants to buck Stiltzkin off and get back to his feet.

Stiltzkin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Stiltzkin looking to secure an arm triangle but Harrison defends it well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Stiltzkin trying to control but Harrison is having none of it.

Stiltzkin stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Stiltzkin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Harrison did well to prevent Stiltzkin getting side control.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stiltzkin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
