Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Coy Dervesh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Moshe Gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moshe Gold has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Coy Dervesh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Moshe Gold!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gold.
Dervesh closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gold circles away.
Gold with a poor takedown

and Dervesh counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dervesh.
Gold is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Gold is trying to control the position but Dervesh postures up.
Dervesh seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Gold had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Dervesh is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gold Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Dervesh's back instead.
Gold gets his hands free as Dervesh looks to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dervesh is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gold is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Dervesh has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Dervesh trying to control the hands but Gold won't let him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gold doesn't have the hooks in and Dervesh manages to turn into his guard.
Dervesh is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dervesh scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Gold tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Dervesh decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gold to his feet.
Dervesh keeps the fight on the outside.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Gold jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dervesh walks away with a smile on his face. Gold gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Gold fails with the takedown

and Dervesh counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Coy Dervesh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Moshe Gold.
Gold looks gassed!
Dervesh is thwarting Gold's attempts to control the position.
Gold wants to get back to his feet.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Gold has eaten all the pies!
Dervesh stalling.
Gold has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dervesh is working away from the top position though.
Dervesh is pressing down on Gold's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gold is holding on for now.

Dervesh is looking for a kimura but Gold is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dervesh to get the leverage.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dervesh has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Dervesh scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Gold tries to kick Dervesh off but Dervesh keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Dervesh looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coy Dervesh dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Dervesh fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gold sprawls well initially but Dervesh persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Dervesh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gold is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Well, if Dervesh is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Gold is breathing heavily.

Dervesh passes into side control, despite Gold's attempt to control the position.
A lull in the action here as Dervesh stalls from top position.
Coy Dervesh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Coy Dervesh just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Dervesh pushes Gold up against the cage in a clinch.
Gold tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dervesh smiles and moves away.

and Dervesh moves into the clinch.

Dervesh has picked Gold up - he's going for a ride! Dervesh dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Dervesh's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Dervesh lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Dervesh prevents Gold from improving his position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dervesh in particular looking to stall.
Gold is trying to maintain the position but Dervesh is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Gold is looking to get back to is feet but Dervesh passes into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coy Dervesh dominated that second round.
That's time! Dervesh's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Dervesh is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gold's half guard.

Gold is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dervesh scores with a couple of nice shots.
Gold takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Coy Dervesh just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Dervesh throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gold was covering up waiting for the punch and Dervesh finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Dervesh is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Dervesh is working Gold over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Dervesh stands and steps away. Gold gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Gold avoids the head kick by Dervesh.

Dervesh rushes Gold and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Dervesh is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gold can't fight it off and eventually Dervesh manages to take the fight to the floor. Gold looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gold is looking to sweep but instead, Dervesh has passed into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Dervesh stands up and beckons Gold to join him on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dervesh bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gold's head backwards.

Dervesh closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Dervesh is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gold has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gold tries to buck Dervesh off but Dervesh is having none of it.
Moshe Gold has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Coy Dervesh is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The referee asks Dervesh politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Dervesh prefers to stall for the moment though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Coy Dervesh showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Dervesh has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
