Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Austin Voltron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Kix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kix tries to clinch up but Voltron circles away and keeps his distance.

David Kix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Voltron lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

and Voltron counters with a beautiful punch that sends Kix to the canvas!

Voltron will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Voltron slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Kix seems to have recovered his senses.
Kix is looking to stand up but Voltron isn't so interested in that idea.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kix can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Voltron controls the pace.
Voltron advances to half guard.
Kix pushes Voltron off looking to stand but Voltron dives back in and keeps control.

Voltron thows a huge punch but Kix dodges it nicely.
Voltron is pressing down on Kix's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kix is holding on for now.
Kix is looking to control Voltron's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kix avoid being mounted?

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Voltron seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Kix is doing well to control the position and prevent Voltron from advancing to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Voltron's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Voltron throws a right hand that Kix ducks under and follows up with a left that Kix also avoids with ease.
Voltron dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kix. That did some damage!

Kix tries to clinch but Voltron moves away
and Voltron counters with a three punch combo that has Kix backing up. Kix nods at Voltron to acknowledge the strikes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kix tries to lock up and control but Voltron gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kix regains half guard.
Still in half guard, Voltron seems content to control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Voltron's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Voltron has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Austin Voltron just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Voltron tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Voltron is looking to clinch but Kix is avoiding it.
Kix throws a sloppy head kick
and Voltron counters with a nice uppercut.
Kix tries to clinch there but Voltron circles away.
Voltron keeps the fight on the outside.
Kix throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Voltron blocks the body kick.
Voltron is looking to clinch but Kix is avoiding it.
Austin Voltron is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kix gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Voltron counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Voltron throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kix closes the distance but Voltron moves to the side

and Voltron holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Voltron trying to stall but Kix improves his position.
Voltron tries to pull guard but Kix holds him up against the cage and eventually Voltron drops back down to his feet.
Kix is trying to break free.
Voltron has Kix pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kix manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

It looks like David Kix has been cut.
Kix should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Voltron breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A good leg kick by Voltron.
Voltron lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Kix is looking to close the distance but Voltron sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Kix crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Kix is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
