The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davidson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mayorga tries to roll over but Davidson keeps him under control.
Mayorga gets back to full guard.
Davidson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mayorga swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mayorga is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Davidson defends well.

Mayorga looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Davidson trying to control the position from guard on top but Mayorga is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Mayorga is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mayorga is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mayorga takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
