Wood escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Wood throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lightning on the side of the head.
Wood throws a shot from downtown. Lightning moves away and avoids it.
Wood thows a body shot but no joy.
Wood throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Wood punishes Lightning's body with a nice straight punch.
Lightning looks gassed!
Wood takes a swing at Lightning's ribcage but misses.
Lightning takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Grease Lightning has been cut.
Wood smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Lightning uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wood.

Wood drops Lightning with a beautiful combination! Lightning stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Wood is looking for the KO!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wood drops Lightning with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Lightning looks back up at him and smiles so Wood waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Crack! Wood connects with the perfect overhand right and Lightning falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Wood!
