Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Johanssen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddell has chosen Just Another Victim by Helmet & House of Pain as his entrance music. David Johanssen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kurt Liddell!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell misses with a looping left.

and Liddell counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Johanssen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Liddell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Liddell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johanssen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Liddell has managed to get both his arms back between Johanssen's legs - danger averted.

Johanssen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Liddell.

Johanssen is looking to control Liddell's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Johanssen avoid being mounted?
Liddell is nestled in close to Johanssen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Liddell works his foot free and advances to mount.
Johanssen wants to hold on but Liddell pushes him away.
