Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Killarus McCloud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Pearce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pearce comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Enter Sandman (Metallica) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Michael Pearce is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Pearce!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCloud tries to clinch but Pearce is having none of it.

McCloud gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
McCloud has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pearce avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
McCloud can't get the takedown.
Pearce lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of McCloud backwards.
McCloud is breathing heavily.

Pearce manages to pull guard.
Pearce tries to strike from the bottom.
McCloud won't allow Pearce to sweep him here.
Pearce looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pearce working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McCloud doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McCloud manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pearce wants to get back to his feet but McCloud is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pearce is on top in guard.

McCloud manages to get to full guard.
McCloud pulls Pearce in close to prevent any damage.

McCloud looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
McCloud is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pearce would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Killarus McCloud seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pearce closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McCloud manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Pearce is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, McCloud has managed to free his arm - good work.

Pearce darts in trying to clinch

and McCloud counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pearce won't be happy with that.

McCloud goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pearce has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for McCloud but great work by Pearce.

McCloud tries to lock up and control but Pearce gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Michael Pearce showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

McCloud can't find room to land a body shot as Pearce controls the action.

McCloud gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Pearce regains guard.
Pearce lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McCloud!

Pearce looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McCloud with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
McCloud tries to kick Pearce off but Pearce keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

McCloud is looking to reverse the position.

Pearce wants to control but McCloud is keeping him busy.

Pearce has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

and Pearce counters with a shoot takedown. McCloud fights it but they end up in guard.
