PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aaron Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Austin!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Austin as he jumps to the side.

Lee tries to keep at a distance but Austin has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lee jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Austin walks away with a smile on his face. Lee gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Austin closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Austin lands a shoulder strike.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Lee drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Austin gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A bit of stalling here from Austin.

Austin manages to break the clinch.
Lee clinches but Austin breaks the clinch
and Austin counters with a stiff right hand.

Lee is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Austin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Austin pushes Lee off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Austin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lee avoids the head kick by Austin.
Lee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Austin tries to avoid it but Lee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Austin to the ground. Austin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Austin counters with a good, hard body kick but Lee shrugs it off.
Lee is breathing heavily.
Austin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lee in his tracks.

Austin scores with the left hand. Lee knows he should have avoided that one.
Lee gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Lee tries to clinch
and Austin counters with a low kick, right behind Lee 's knee.
Austin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lee tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Austin counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Austin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Lee gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Austin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Austin is looking to work some ground and pound but Lee has wrist control.

Austin passes Lee's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Austin connects with a nice short shot to Lee's temple.
Austin thows a huge punch but Lee dodges it nicely.
Austin scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Austin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Austin stands up and beckons Lee to join him on the feet.

Austin shoots in and bounces Lee off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Austin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lee is trying to drag Austin to the mat but Austin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Austin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Austin closes the distance and pushes Lee back into the cage.

Lee throws a head punch that misses.
Austin comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Austin turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Austin manages to end up in side control.
Lee is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Austin advances to mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lee takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Austin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Austin lands a big shot there that rocks Lee but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Austin cracks Lee with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Jeff Austin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Austin moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Austin has closed the distance and engaged Lee in a clinch.
Lee has Austin pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Austin manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Austin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A slapping leg kick lands for Lee.

Austin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
BOOM! Austin connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Austin is working for a guillotine from mount but Lee frees his head quite easily.

Jeff Austin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Austin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
