PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Huber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dropkick Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Huber comes to the cage accompanied by Boom Boom Pow. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gavin Huber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dropkick Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy fails to land with a series of punches.
Murphy fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Murphy lands with a straight right. Huber didn't see that one coming.
A chopping leg kick lands by Murphy.
A slow jab from Murphy misses its intended target.
Murphy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Huber circles away quickly and effectively.

Huber throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Murphy was covering up waiting for the punch and Huber finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Huber passes into half guard.
Huber is looking to stall here but Murphy recovers full guard.

Huber has gone for a leg lock! Murphy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Huber's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Murphy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Despite being in the dominant position, Dropkick Murphy just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Huber shoots in for a takedown but Murphy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Oh Huber is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Huber is breathing heavily.
Huber will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Huber seems to have got his legs back now.

Huber shoots in for a takedown but Murphy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Huber takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Murphy has cracked Huber with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Murphy lands another huge swinging hook and Huber tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Huber, before Murphy can land any more shots!
