PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Psiho Borec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aljo Stajerski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Borec comes into the arena with Carl orff - o fortuna blaring out of the sound system. Stajerski has chosen ACAB as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Psiho Borec!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Aljo Stajerski!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borec ducks under a wild hook from Stajerski.

Stajerski throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Borec was covering up waiting for the punch and Stajerski finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Borec is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Stajerski is looking to work some ground and pound but Borec has wrist control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Stajerski connects with a couple of short punches.
Borec wants to sweep but no luck.
Borec not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Borec keeping moving, preventing Stajerski from controlling successfully.
Borec is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Stajerski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stajerski's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Borec with a lazy takedown attempt

Borec misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stajerski dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Borec is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Borec blocks a low kick nicely.

Stajerski gets a takedown into half guard.
Stajerski slips a nice elbow through Borec's hands, connecting with Borec's forehead.
Stajerski thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Stajerski is nestled in close to Borec, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Stajerski is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Borec defends it well.
Borec is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Borec is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stajerski's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stajerski's back!
Borec has the hooks in. Stajerski is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Stajerski manages to reverse the position and now he's in Borec's guard. Nice work there by Stajerski.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Stajerski shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Stajerski showed some decent athleticism there.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Stajerski avoids the attempt from Borec to control.
Borec is looking to improve his position but Stajerski isn't that keen on the idea.
Stajerski is landing with some decent strikes but Borec is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Psiho Borec's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Psiho Borec's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
