Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Skim Sturd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Mako (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mako feints and as Sturd raises his hands in defense, Mako changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sturd controlling the position.
Mako stands up over Sturd, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Mako tries to stand but Sturd is controlling from the bottom.
Mako postures up.
Sturd really is a fat lump.
Mako not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mako wanted to stand there but Sturd had control of the position.
Sturd has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mako has passed into side control.
Mako trying to control the action but Sturd is working from the bottom.

Mako wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sturd, who protects the arm well.
Mako tries to advance to mount but Sturd denies him.

Mako cracks Sturd with a big elbow.

Mako stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Sturd tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mako swivels and escapes.
Sturd is breathing heavily.

Mako gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Mako looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Mako is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Mako looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mako lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sturd!

Mako lands with some strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mako looking to control but Sturd is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Sturd is looking to get to half guard.

Mako gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Sturd fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mako, pushing him back against the cage.
Mako fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Sturd escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sturd gets the takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mako gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Mako is pressing down on Sturd's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Mako keeping moving, preventing Sturd from controlling successfully.
Sturd controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Sturd wants to pass the guard but Mako is keeping the position.
Sturd loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Mako looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sturd is one step ahead there.

Mako is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Mako is pressed up against the cage. Sturd has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mako down to the mat. Mako avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Mako tries for a takedown but Sturd circles away easily
and Sturd counters with a body kick.
Mako wants to clinch up but Sturd keeps it at a distance.
Horrible takedown by Sturd or perhaps it was just good defense by Mako which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Skim Sturd. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sturd scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Mako is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Sturd wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mako keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mako regains full guard. Nicely done.

Mako has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Sturd doesn't defend quickly enough and Mako has managed to lock this one up! Can Sturd escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Mako on a fantastic submission victory.
