The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackman connects with a good right hand that stumbles Vahva. Vahva circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Harri Vahva has been cut.

Vahva is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Blackman can't fight it off and eventually Vahva manages to take the fight to the floor. Blackman looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Blackman wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vahva has him pressed against the cage.
Vahva prevents Blackman from breaking the clinch.

Blackman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Vahva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Blackman paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vahva walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Vahva sizes up Blackman with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Vahva fails with a takedown attempt.
Seventies Blackman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harri Vahva.

Blackman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Vahva has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Vahva with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Blackman to score with a decent uppercut.

That has opened up Harri Vahva's cut even more.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Blackman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Blackman tries to close the distance and clinch but Vahva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vahva.
Seventies Blackman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Blackman connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Vahva tumbling to the canvas! Blackman pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Vahva was done - good stoppage!
