Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Glen DANZIG (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Kopite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). DANZIG comes to the cage accompanied by The Misfits-Where Eagles Dare. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roberto Kopite!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kopite throws a combination. DANZIG tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Nice jab there from Kopite.
Kopite misses with a looping left.
Kopite stuffs the takedown.
DANZIG looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kopite looks to land a combination but DANZIG avoids it well.
DANZIG takes one on the button.
DANZIG doesn't manage to clinch there - Kopite circles away.
No joy there for Kopite, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
DANZIG wants to clinch.
Kopite bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
DANZIG fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kopite checks it well.
DANZIG shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kopite as he jumps to the side.

Kopite fails to land with a series of punches.

DANZIG looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kopite!

DANZIG looking to secure an arm triangle but Kopite defends it well.
Kopite has given up his back here. Will DANZIG look for the submission or keep pounding away?
Kopite is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

DANZIG is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Kopite knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Kopite for a finish.

Kopite is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if DANZIG gets his way!

Despite being in a bad position, Kopite is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts.

Kopite looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

DANZIG is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kopite has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
DANZIG has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
DANZIG looking to hold on to the position here but Kopite rolls and ends up regaining guard.

Kopite scrambles and gets back to his feet.
DANZIG takes a jab right on the kisser.
DANZIG wants to clinch.
Glen DANZIG seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kopite misses with a few strikes there.
Kopite displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from DANZIG.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Roberto Kopite will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kopite throws the left hand but DANZIG avoids the punch easily.
Kopite lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as DANZIG backs up against the cage.
Kopite misses the shot to the body.
DANZIG fails with a takedown attempt.
Kopite slaps away a takedown attempt from DANZIG, before circling back to the center of the mat.
DANZIG tries to clinch up.
Kopite is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Kopite showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from DANZIG.
Kopite connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
DANZIG steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kopite.

DANZIG closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kopite to the mat! Kopite manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kopite is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst DANZIG is controlling him.
DANZIG might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
DANZIG stands and throws Kopite's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kopite pushes DANZIG away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, DANZIG gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

DANZIG tries for a kimura but Kopite is defending well.

DANZIG thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kopite is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but DANZIG has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Kopite is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

DANZIG wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kopite, who protects the arm well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kopite avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kopite misses with a hook. DANZIG ducked under it nicely.
DANZIG looks for a takedown but Kopite sprawls well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
DANZIG shoots for a double leg takedown but Kopite sprawls well. He's pushed DANZIG's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from DANZIG is defended easily by Kopite.
Kopite lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Kopite swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and DANZIG counters with a shoot takedown. Kopite fights it but they end up in guard.

Kopite is looking to stand up but DANZIG isn't so interested in that idea.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Glen DANZIG will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


DANZIG tries to clinch but Kopite is having none of it.

DANZIG stands and steps away. Kopite gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Kopite wants to stand and escape but DANZIG is having none of it.

DANZIG postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kopite is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of DANZIG, into his guard.
Kopite working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

DANZIG looking for a sweep. Not yet DANZIG, not yet.

DANZIG looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Kopite not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
DANZIG controls Kopite momentarily but Kopite frees himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

DANZIG had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kopite defends it easily.
Kopite wants to stand but DANZIG has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Kopite really doesn't want to stay on the ground with DANZIG. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kopite throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kopite circles away from the clinch attempt.
DANZIG looks for a takedown but Kopite sprawls well.
DANZIG will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Kopite lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but DANZIG circles away quickly and effectively.
Kopite throws a right and a left that DANZIG avoids nicely.
Kopite lands a right hook to the body.
Kopite uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Kopite throws a nice looking combination but DANZIG bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kopite lands with a right hand.
DANZIG wants to clinch.
Kopite misses with a two punch combination.

DANZIG darts in and clinches Kopite up against the cage.
DANZIG misses with a punch to the body.
Kopite has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
DANZIG gets through Kopite's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

DANZIG drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kopite pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glen DANZIG. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fight stays on the outside here - DANZIG looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
DANZIG avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
DANZIG tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kopite sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten DANZIG somewhat.
Roberto Kopite is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
DANZIG looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kopite is fending him off so far but DANZIG persists. Nope, Kopite circles away and we're back to standing.
Kopite connects with a body shot.
DANZIG takes a kick to the side of the head.
Kopite connects with a jab.
Kopite throws a good cross that connects.
Kopite scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

And that's the end of the fight!
Roberto Kopite comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kopite has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
