Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derek knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Yourman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). knight comes to the cage accompanied by Stronger. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yourman swats away the attempt to clinch by knight.
knight connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
knight misses with a takedown attempt - Yourman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Yourman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Yourman clinches.
Yourman tried to land a shot to the body but connects with knight's elbow.
Yourman tries to pull guard but knight holds him up against the cage and eventually Yourman drops back down to his feet.

Yourman has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. knight is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Derek knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brett Yourman.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Yourman wants to improve his position but knight is controlling well.

knight is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Yourman has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Yourman wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Yourman wants to work for an arm triangle but knight is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Yourman is looking for a kimura but knight is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Yourman to get the leverage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yourman misses with a head shot. knight uses the momentum to regain guard.

knight gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Yourman counters with a single leg into guard. knight didn't expect that.

Yourman is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

knight has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Yourman is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for knight.

Brett Yourman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! knight's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Yourman goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
knight tries for a takedown but Yourman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

knight shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than knight was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Despite being in the dominant position, Brett Yourman just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Yourman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in knight's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Derek knight.
