PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yung black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Nui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). black has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Yung black has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yung black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Nui!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

black fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nui, pushing him back against the cage.
black is breathing heavily.
Nui tries for a takedown. No joy.
Nui stalling the fight.
black prevents the takedown attempt.
black misses with a knee to the head.

Nui gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Nui is taking a breather. black says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nui wants to control but black is keeping him busy.

black has one foot on Nui's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Nui moves into the clinch.
Nui changes levels and goes for a takedown here. black fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Yung black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Nui.

Nui moves into the clinch.
Nui can't get the takedown.
Nui works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Nui tries to pull guard but black holds him up against the cage and eventually Nui drops back down to his feet.

black using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Nui has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Nui just leaning against black, taking a breather.
A right handed body shot lands from Nui.
black tries to land a knee to the head but Nui blocks with his arms.

Nui manages to pull guard.

Nui pushes black off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
black tries to clinch but fails miserably

black with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Nui is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
black tries to land a knee to the head but Nui blocks with his arms.

Nui jumps guard and drags black to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
black has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
black wants to stand but Nui is controlling his posture from full guard.

black avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
black will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nui has a closed guard, preventing black from standing up.

Nui has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think black should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Nui has tightened it up now! black should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
