Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frederick Fonglebang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Emerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fonglebang comes to the cage accompanied by Bidibodi Bidibu. Emerson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Laurent Wolf - No Stress. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Emerson!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emerson thows a body shot but no joy.
Fonglebang misses with a body shot.
Fonglebang throws a nice looking combination but Emerson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Fonglebang throws out a loose jab but Emerson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Fonglebang thows a left - swing and a miss!
Emerson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Emerson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fonglebang misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Fonglebang cracks Emerson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Emerson shoots in for a double leg but Fonglebang sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Emerson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fonglebang manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Emerson gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Fonglebang lands a left and a right that send Emerson crashing to the mat, dazed. Fonglebang thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Emerson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Fonglebang finds it's way round the side to connect with Emerson's head.

Fonglebang throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Emerson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Fonglebang throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Fonglebang comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Emerson is breathing heavily.

and Emerson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fonglebang's guard.

Emerson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Fonglebang dives on top into guard.
Fonglebang wants to control from the top but Emerson keeps moving.
Fonglebang has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Emerson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Emerson has his foot on Fonglebang's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fonglebang works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Fonglebang drops back, looking for a kneebar! Emerson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Emerson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Emerson!

Fonglebang is looking to regain half guard here but Emerson keeps moving and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Fonglebang throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Emerson scores with a sloppy right hand. Fonglebang should have avoided that one.

Emerson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Fonglebang throws a right and a left that both miss.

Emerson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Fonglebang.
Emerson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fonglebang circles away quickly and effectively.

Fonglebang decides to stand up, so the ref orders Emerson to his feet.

Emerson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fonglebang goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Emerson misses with a looping right.
Fonglebang throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fonglebang misses the shot to the body.
Fonglebang slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Emerson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Fonglebang connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Fonglebang misses with an uppercut. Emerson saw that one coming.

Fonglebang lands a left and a right that send Emerson crashing to the mat, dazed. Fonglebang thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Emerson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Fonglebang is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Emerson, into his guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fonglebang gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frederick Fonglebang showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fonglebang, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
