Frio has closed the distance and engaged Sacks in a clinch.

Sacks is fighting off a takedown attempt but Frio is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Sacks to the mat. Sacks regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Frio wants to pass the guard but Sacks is keeping the position.
Frio slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
You can see the frustration on Sacks's face as Frio controls the position.
Sacks is trying to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Frio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
