Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Benson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Benson showed some decent athleticism there.

Benson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Benson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pierre does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Pierre is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Benson pulls his head out easily.

Pierre wants to control but Benson is keeping busy.
Pierre is looking for a sweep. Benson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pierre doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Benson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pierre!

Pierre is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Benson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pierre on the ground.
Pierre is looking to improve his position but Benson isn't that keen on the idea.

Pierre pushes Benson off looking to stand but Benson dives back in and keeps control.
Benson is trying to control the action in half guard but Pierre is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Benson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pierre's guard.
Benson tries to stand but Pierre is controlling from the bottom.
Pierre doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Pierre looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Pierre controls Benson momentarily but Benson frees himself.
Pierre manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Benson manages to get himself to full guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Pierre stands and steps away. Benson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Pierre gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Benson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Pierre has his foot on Benson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Benson works his way back into a safe position though.

Pierre working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Benson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Benson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pierre is working an open guard so Benson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Benson shoots in and drives through. Pierre sprawls well.
Pierre gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Benson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pierre's guard now.

Benson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pierre has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Benson has managed to get both his arms back between Pierre's legs - danger averted.

Pierre has his feet on Benson's thighs here. He's pushed Benson off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Benson screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
