The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanaka fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tanaka gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Tanaka connects with a nasty looking knee right to Ranson's face.
It looks like David Ranson has been cut.
Tanaka creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Ranson's defenses.
Tanaka looking to throw knees to the head but Ranson is blocking nicely.
Tanaka misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ranson.
Ranson wants to break the clinch but can't.

Tanaka lands an elbow that stopped Ranson in his tracks for a moment.

Ranson throws out a loose jab but Tanaka uses good head movement to avoid it.

No joy there for Ranson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ranson scores with a crisp jab that stopped Tanaka in his tracks.
Ranson throws a leg kick which misses Tanaka's front leg but catches the back leg as Tanaka tries to avoid it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Tanaka looks gassed!

Ranson misses with a double jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tanaka looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ranson throws a series of punches but Tanaka moves out of range.
Ranson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tanaka tries to clinch up.
Ranson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Tanaka drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Ranson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ranson lands with a right that hurts Tanaka. Tanaka looks to clinch but Ranson throws a short knee that drops Tanaka. This one is all over!
