Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kimmo Kinnunen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Turtle Poole!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poole looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kinnunen tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Kinnunen wants to get back to full guard.
Poole trying to control the action but Kinnunen is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Turtle Poole seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Poole looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kinnunen is fending him off so far but Poole persists. Nope, Kinnunen circles away and we're back to standing.

Kinnunen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Poole's guard.
Kinnunen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kinnunen has hold of Poole's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Poole manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Kinnunen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Poole has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Poole!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kinnunen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Poole has picked Kinnunen up and slammed him! Kinnunen can't keep hold of the triangle and Poole manages to pass to side control!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Poole cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Kinnunen counters with a single leg into guard. Poole didn't expect that.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Poole counters with a shoot takedown. Kinnunen fights it but they end up in guard.

Turtle Poole comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kinnunen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
