Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Exodus Maxell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maxell comes to the cage accompanied by Oh Canada!. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Exodus Maxell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Bird!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxell lands a jab.
Maxell connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bird tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maxell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Maxell clobbers Bird with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Maxell misses with a looping right.
Maxell shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bird sprawls well. Bird wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maxell gets slowly back to his feet.
Bird looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Bird throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Maxell was covering up waiting for the punch and Bird finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Maxell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Maxell is thwarting Bird's attempts to control the position.
Bird preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Maxell is looking to pass Bird's guard but actually Bird recovers to full guard.
Bird tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bird is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Maxell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bird bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maxell's guard.

Bird trying to control the position from guard on top but Maxell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Maxell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bird gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bird stands and throws Maxell's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Maxell parries the strikes from Bird easily there. Bird is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Maxell to escape.
Bird wants to control but Maxell is keeping him busy.
Maxell is trying to get back to half guard.
Bird wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maxell keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bird is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Maxell is trying to escape and Bird transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Maxell is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bird! Very nice indeed!
