Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rogerio Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Slick Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson fails to land the takedown.
Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Silva looks to land a combination but Jackson avoids it well.

Jackson has taken the fight to the clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Jackson.
Silva is looking to break free of the clinch but Jackson has double underhooks.
Silva takes a shot to the head.
Silva wants a takedown.
Silva can't get the takedown.

Jackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jackson shoots in but Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rogerio Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slick Jackson.
Silva looks to clinch
and Jackson counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Silva tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jackson rushes Silva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Silva wants a takedown but no success here.
Silva can't break the clinch.
Silva could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jackson tries to throw a body punch but Silva avoids it by throwing Jackson back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Silva's efforts to push away.
Silva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jackson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Jackson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Silva just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jackson drags the fight down to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Jackson looks gassed!
Silva trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Silva trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt

and Jackson counters by clinching up.

Jackson pulls Silva into guard.
Silva preventing the sweep.
Jackson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jackson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Silva wants to stand but Jackson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Silva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Silva is working hard here to advance position.
Silva is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Jackson wants to hit a switch here but Silva passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Jackson there!
Silva controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Silva fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Jackson is desperately trying to improve his position but Silva has a good base and remains in mount.
Jackson tries to hold on but Silva pushes him away.
A nice elbow there by Silva.
Jackson is squirming around, avoiding Silva's attempts to control the action.
Silva landing strikes from the mount.

Silva trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Silva quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Silva but it's paid off an Jackson is forced to tap! Nice work by Silva.
