The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

English gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Zamarano is trying to break the clinch but English is controlling him.

Zamarano has hold of one of English's legs. English is fighting the takedown attempt but Zamarano gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
English has momentary wrist control but Zamarano slips an elbow through the middle.
English is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Zamarano is controlling him.
Zamarano lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
English is trying to control the position but Zamarano postures up.

English tries to stall but Zamarano uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
English lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Zamarano is looking to break free of the clinch but English has double underhooks.
The referee is keeping an eye on English - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
English tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
English looks gassed!
Zamarano is working for takedown but English is calmly controlling the position for now.
Zamarano wants to break the clinch but can't.

Zamarano has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. English is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Zamarano has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of English's face.
Zamarano wants to control the pace but English is squirming around nicely.

English keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Zamarano postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. English looks a forlorn figure.
Zamarano has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

BOOM! Zamarano connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
