Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between BJ Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Trujillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, BJ Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Trujillo!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie blocks a head kick by Trujillo.

Trujillo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Gracie really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Trujillo controlling the position easily from mount.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Gracie tries to lock up and control but Trujillo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Gracie is looking to improve his position but Trujillo isn't that keen on the idea.
BOOM! Trujillo connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Trujillo is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Trujillo looking to control but Gracie is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Gracie tries to hold on but Trujillo postures up.

Gracie regains half guard.
Gracie wants to improve his position but Trujillo is controlling well.
Trujillo tries to stand but can't do so whilst Gracie controls his leg.
Trujillo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gracie moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Trujillo distracts Gracie with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Gracie looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Trujillo wants to stand but Gracie has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Trujillo won't allow Gracie to sweep him here.
Trujillo connects with a couple of short punches.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Gracie moves out of range of the strikes.

Gracie is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Trujillo's half guard.

Gracie is working for an americana but Trujillo has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Gracie was thinking about the submission.

Gracie is looking to work some ground and pound but Trujillo has wrist control.

Trujillo wants to stand and escape but Gracie is having none of it.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Trujillo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gracie on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Gracie manages to get to full guard.

Trujillo wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
Trujillo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Trujillo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Trujillo manages to get himself to full guard.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Trujillo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's time! Gracie's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Gracie scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Trujillo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Trujillo is defending well.
Trujillo is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Trujillo has his hands clasped together around Gracie's back. He's all about the action.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Trujillo defends it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Trujillo has his hands clasped together around Gracie's back. He's all about the action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Trujillo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Gracie controls Trujillo momentarily but Trujillo frees himself.

Gracie is looking for a triangle but Trujillo pushes his legs off easily.

Trujillo passes Gracie's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Gracie is staying active underneath Trujillo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Trujillo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gracie with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Trujillo is nestled in close to Gracie, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie.

Trujillo gets to his feet. Gracie looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Trujillo throws a head kick but Gracie moves out of range.
Trujillo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Trujillo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gracie.
Gracie fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Gracie trying to control the action but Trujillo is working from the bottom.
Trujillo tries to buck Gracie off but Gracie is having none of it.
Trujillo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gracie's best efforts.
Gracie stops Trujillo from getting back to his feet.

Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

A close second round but Jeff Trujillo will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Trujillo connects with a nice short shot to Gracie's temple.

Trujillo wants to pass to mount but Gracie is defending the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Gracie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Trujillo to score an easy takedown into full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Trujillo is keeping the position.

Well Trujillo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
