Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Some wild striking there from Belfort.
Belfort lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maia circles away quickly and effectively.
A punch combination from Belfort misses.
Belfort stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Belfort wants it to stay on the feet.
Belfort misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nice sprawl there from Belfort as Maia shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Demian Maia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Belfort is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Maia.
A combination from Belfort does no damage.
Belfort rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maia moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Maia shoots in for a takedown but Belfort shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Belfort's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Belfort duly obliges.

Belfort throws a nice looking combination but Maia bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Maia fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Belfort, pushing him back against the cage.
Belfort lands a left hand.
Maia can't get the takedown.
Belfort lands a nice uppercut.

Belfort decides to pull guard.
Maia pushing down on Belfort's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Belfort won't allow Maia to pass to mount.
Maia maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Belfort could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Maia has cracked it and Belfort is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Maia!
