Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vlad BrokkenHauser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malvin Maldi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maldi is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Loituma TECHNO!. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maldi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. BrokkenHauser looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
BrokkenHauser takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Maldi shoots in for a takedown but BrokkenHauser shows good takedown defense.
Maldi slips a jab from BrokkenHauser.
Maldi keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
BrokkenHauser lands a left and a right that send Maldi crashing to the mat, dazed. BrokkenHauser thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Maldi is rocked!
It looks like Malvin Maldi has been cut.
BrokkenHauser stuns Maldi with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Maldi is still on wobbly legs! Can BrokkenHauser finish him?

and Maldi counters with a shoot takedown. BrokkenHauser fights it but they end up in guard.
Maldi seems to have recovered his senses.
Maldi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

and Maldi counters with a nice double leg into guard.
BrokkenHauser is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maldi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maldi drops back looking for a leg! BrokkenHauser is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and BrokkenHauser manages to kick Maldi off! Maldi jumps back into BrokkenHauser's guard.

Maldi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
BrokkenHauser might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

BrokkenHauser is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maldi is controlling him.
BrokkenHauser tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Maldi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Maldi counters with a nice uppercut.

Maldi is going olschool here, as he tries to force BrokkenHauser to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so BrokkenHauser shrugs it off.

BrokkenHauser is looking to improve his position but Maldi isn't that keen on the idea.

BrokkenHauser tries to buck Maldi off but he can't manage it.

Maldi is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but BrokkenHauser is surviving well by controlling Maldi's body position as best he can.
BrokkenHauser defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Maldi.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Maldi lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
BrokkenHauser is in a horrible position here. Maldi smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

BrokkenHauser throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
BrokkenHauser keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Maldi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. BrokkenHauser knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Maldi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but BrokkenHauser is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
BrokkenHauser manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Maldi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks BrokkenHauser with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Maldi is breathing heavily.
BrokkenHauser is looking to control Maldi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can BrokkenHauser avoid being mounted?
Maldi is trying to work for a kimura but BrokkenHauser is defending well.
