PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Randleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Malenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malenko comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pé na Porta, Soco na Cara kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randleman throws a hook to the side of Malenko's head but Malenko sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Malenko has a takedown stuffed.
Randleman looks to land a left hand but Malenko moved out of range nicely.
Malenko staying out of range there.
Malenko blocks a jab.
Malenko ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Randleman throws a hook but Malenko avoids it easily.
Randleman throws the left hand but Malenko avoids the punch easily.

Randleman gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Malenko to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Randleman is looking to stand up but Malenko isn't so interested in that idea.
Malenko is standing up over Randleman. Randleman looks to escape but Malenko dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Randleman pushes Malenko away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Malenko gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Check out the look on Malenko's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Malenko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Randleman has escaped the position, nice work there.

Malenko stands up over Randleman, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Malenko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Randleman, pushing him back against the cage.

Malenko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Malenko shoots for a double leg takedown but Randleman sprawls well. He's pushed Malenko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Malenko bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Randleman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Randleman tries to get out of the position.

Malenko shoots in but Randleman avoids the takedown attempt easily.

It looks like Diego Malenko has been cut.

Malenko manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Randleman, as that shot connected.

Malenko is going olschool here, as he tries to force Randleman to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Randleman shrugs it off.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Malenko postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Randleman looks a forlorn figure.
