PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Humphrey Sloan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzales is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gladiator Suite - Zimmer. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Humphrey Sloan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Gonzales!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloan throws a sloppy head kick and Gonzales moves out of range easily.

Gonzales has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gonzales tries to circle away but Sloan has him pinned against the cage.
Gonzales wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Gonzales working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Sloan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sloan shoots for a double leg takedown but Gonzales sprawls well. He's pushed Sloan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gonzales moves into range and connects with a jab.
Gonzales throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gonzales will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Humphrey Sloan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gonzales throws a head kick that misses

and Sloan counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Gonzales not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gonzales keeping full guard, as Sloan tries to pass.
Sloan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Gonzales trying to control the position.
Sloan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Sloan has an Americana. Gonzales didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sloan is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sloan hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
