Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joshua Riddick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ju Young Kim!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Riddick sprawls well. Riddick wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kim gets slowly back to his feet.
Kim is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Riddick dodges the punch combination from Kim.
Kim takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Kim wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kim shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kim looking to sit in guard and control but Riddick gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Riddick wants to pass the guard but Kim is keeping the position.

Kim really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Riddick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Riddick drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Riddick jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Riddick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kim swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Riddick is working hard here to advance position.

Kim is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kim wants the takedown. Riddick is fighting it off but Kim persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Riddick's guard against the cage.

Riddick throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kim uses it to pass to side control.

Kim trying to control the action but Riddick is working from the bottom.
Kim prevents Riddick from improving his position.
Riddick is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kim's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kim's back!

Riddick is persistently looking for the submission but Kim is defending it well.
Riddick is breathing heavily.

Kim trying to control the hands but Riddick breaks the grip.

Riddick is looking for the choke from the back position but Kim is controlling his hands well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kim tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Kim is wriggling around trying to escape.

Riddick jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kim is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kim and Riddick has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Riddick is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kim knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kim is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Riddick is trying to get an arm triangle but Kim is defending well.
Kim is trying to control Riddick's posture but Riddick avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joshua Riddick dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kim shoots in for a takedown but Riddick shows good takedown defense.
Kim shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Riddick but Riddick pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kim throws a head kick that misses

and Riddick counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Kim is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Kim is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Riddick gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Joshua Riddick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ju Young Kim.
Riddick jumps guard but Kim stands there with Riddick around his waist. Riddick gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Riddick has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kim uses from the top position.

Kim is posturing up here but Riddick has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Kim tries to roll out but it's too tight and Kim has to tap! Slick submission there by Riddick!
