The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Rafael misses.
shrimp tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rafael swivels and escapes.
Rafael throws a looping overhand right but shrimp ducks down to avoid it.

Rafael gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
shrimp trying to control but Rafael is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
shrimp works a leg free and moves into half guard.
shrimp is looking to take a break and control but Rafael is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

shrimp is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
shrimp wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rafael keeps working.

shrimp is working for an americana but Rafael has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst shrimp was thinking about the submission.

shrimp is looking to stall here but Rafael recovers full guard.
shrimp is pushing down on Rafael's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rafael is fighting to maintain full guard but shrimp has managed to sneak the leg through.

shrimp is trying to work for a kimura but Rafael is defending well.

Rafael wants to get back to his feet.

shrimp has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Rafael knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for shrimp on the ground.

shrimp goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Rafael is on top in guard.
