Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Art Connelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bing Bong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connelly comes to the cage accompanied by Deep down n dirty - Stereo mc's. Bong has chosen Voices as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connelly ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bong moves away.
Connelly throws a hook to the side of Bong's head but Bong sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bong avoids the body shot from Connelly.
Connelly fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bong manages to avoid it.
Bong misses with a takedown attempt - Connelly sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Connelly counters with a left and a right that stings Bong.
Bong is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Connelly's half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bong unloads with some shots from mount but Connelly bucks and avoids them well.
Bong is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Connelly has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Connelly!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bong keeping full guard, as Connelly tries to pass.

Bong has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Connelly can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Connelly postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bong is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Connelly, into his guard.

Bong looking to sit in guard and control but Connelly gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Connelly lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Connelly wants to control from the top but Bong keeps moving.

Connelly looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bong is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Connelly scores with a couple of nice shots.

enabling Connelly to counter with a crisp jab.
Connelly throws a nice looking combination but Bong bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Connelly counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bong moves out of range of the body kick from Connelly.
Connelly throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Connelly misses with an uppercut.
Bong throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Connelly jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Bong misses with a head kick.
Connelly digs a good hook to Bong's body.
Connelly scores with a nice head shot.
Bong is breathing heavily.

Bong has his takedown stuffed
and Connelly counters with a nice uppercut.
Connelly tries to bum rush Bong with a series of wild strikes but Bong uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bong moves forwards but Connelly connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Connelly swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Connelly throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Connelly misses with a double jab
and Bong counters with a nice double leg into side control. Connelly won't be happy with that.

Bong has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Connelly tries to improve position but can't.
Bong is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Connelly is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bong ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Connelly ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bong moves away.
Bong gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Connelly counters with a thumping low kick.
Connelly tries a head kick but it misses.
A decent looking cross lands there for Connelly.
Bong closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Connelly is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Connelly on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Connelly tries to get out of the position.
Bong takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bong tries to pass to full mount but Connelly defends it.

Bong is thwarting Connelly's attempts to control the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bong connects with a nice short shot to Connelly's temple.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Connelly is on top in guard.

Connelly takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Connelly is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
It looks like Connelly is going to stand back up.

Connelly is keen to just control but Bong is a slippery customer.
Art Connelly is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Connelly looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bong with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Connelly with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Bing Bong has got the better of the ground game so far.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Art Connelly just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bong crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Connelly - the referee stops the clock and Bong gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Connelly. Bong manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Bing Bong has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bong avoids the head kick by Connelly.
Connelly lands with a straight right. Bong didn't see that one coming.
And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Connelly, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
