The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Almeida throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gracie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Almeida is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control.
Almeida avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gracie tries to pass to full mount but Almeida defends it.

Almeida is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action.
Gracie blocks Almeida's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Gracie has hold of Almeida's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Almeida manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Gracie working for a guillotine from mount but Almeida is in no mood to give up.
Almeida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
